Community Conversations at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library
Throughout the year, the Virginia Beach Public Library hosts Community Conversations at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library. These are small group conversations about topics of local and national interest. For future planning, please share your ideas for possible future topics.
Of the top five topics you rated highest, why are these important to you?
Transportation. BRT should be done vice light rail!. Cost and if a natural disaster occurs it would be up and running faster than light rail. No power outages, cost about a fourth of light rail. No new power lines after a storm.
Energy- jobs, turbines off the coast. We should lead the nation in this. We are missing the opportunity. Nice that the school board put some in on Harper's road. Other departments should follow suit.
Guns and Violence-Keep Virginia Beach Safe., guns need to be in the hands of the right people and law abiding people.
Racial Tension- No place for it!
Natural disasters- staying up with the latest means of doing this and protecting the citizens and the city.
