Cox cable resembles a monopoly on cable television in Virginia Beach. I have no choice, and I speak for many others, but to have their service. Verizon FIOS is not available on my street. I know for a fact that several of my neighbors including myself are more than interested in having the option of FIOS. For 34 years I have been a cox customer. Cox has been hiking their prices up almost every year and we have no choice but to pay. Their customer service via telephone makes you wait extreme amounts of time. My cox cable bill is the largest bill I have. It is ridiculous the prices they are raping everyone with.
For those who don’t subscribe, why have you chosen not to subscribe to Cox or Verizon FiOS cable television service?
I do not have the option for FIOS, however I and some of my neighbors wish we did.
Are you aware of VBTV on local channels 46, 47 and 48 with Cox and 45, 46, 47 with Verizon?

If yes, do you ever watch programming that airs on VBTV, such as City Council meetings, Access Virginia Beach, Frontline Firefighter, How-in-the-World or the Planning Commission meetings?

Is there anything else you’d like to say about cable television service or VBTV in Virginia Beach?
Cable television in Virginia Beach is out of control and I KNOW for a fact that a majority of the citizens feel the same way! We need to have more options for cable television or at least the option to choose between cox or verizon. Verizon is not available on my street. With cox being the only option it submits many people to every price hike every year from cox cable. It's like take it or leave it and that's not reasonable.
