I prefer separate areas for large and small dogs
Because of the difference in temparament and size between large and small dogs, large dog owners are often unable to utilize off leash dog parks when there are small, high energy, or confrontational dogs in the park. It would be nice if there were two different areas for the different sizes so that everyone is able to use the park without having to wait for others to leave.
You may have the most docile and socialized large dog in the world, but if a small dog will not leave him alone and is continually barking in his face, one defensive motion of your large dog could seriously injure or kill the smaller dog. It would be a shame to have to face litigation, or even the euthenization of your beloved family member simply because someone else wasn't watching or controlling their dog properly. It is for this reason that many people with large dogs are forced to just leave the dog park when there are smaller dogs present, and I am sure that small dog owners have similar concerns. However, I think it is wonderful that another dog park is in the works, whether you decide on seperate ones or not.

I understand that if they're all together, then the dogs have 1 acre of space to use. If the small and big dogs are separated, how much space will be dedicated to each? And if they're split, will there still be a second area to rotate for turf management? Maybe I'm missing these details, but it's all something to take into consideration.

While my first thought would be separate parks, some owners have both small and large dogs and would need to have them together in order to use the park.

Please build a separate dog park for the little dogs. I have avoided taking my small dog to the current Park because there is no place for them to play safely. I feel that my dog could get hurt by the bigger dogs playing. I also feel that sometimes smaller dogs get more territorial around big dogs and this leads to fighting. By having separate parks for the different sizes I think it would lead to fun for all dogs.

As an employee at Woodstock, I am asked by dog park users if there is a seperate park for small and large dogs. No there is not, however I believe it is a good idea to seperate dogs by size. One so the bigger dogs have more room to run. Two for the smaller dogs to run around freely without being trampled. In conclusion I have seen dogs of different sizes play with each other at Woodstock's Dog Park. The site is too cute.

Having a small dog, I think it's better to have them separated.
