Have you noticed all of the exciting things developing along Tulsa’s Route 66 corridor? From parks to businesses, Route 66 continues to be an important part of Tulsa community life.
The City of Tulsa Brownfields Program seeks to enhance these efforts by developing an Area-Wide Brownfields Redevelopment Plan for the Route 66 corridor. A brownfield is an abandoned, idled or under-used industrial and commercial site where redevelopment is complicated by real or perceived environmental contamination. The area wide study will help direct future public assistance for cleanup and reuse based on the community’s vision.
In this part of the area wide study, we want to prioritize the types of properties that are good candidates for cleanup and what those properties should be used for afterwards. We want to hear what you feel provides the most potential for economic or recreational development.
This survey is asking two sets of questions. What types of property should be priority for brownfields redevelopment? What do you want to see in the Route 66 corridor?
