About
Open Saint Paul is a new online forum for civic engagement. Read what others are saying about important Saint Paul topics, then post your own statement. City staff and officials will read the statements and incorporate them into their decision-making process.
Open Saint Paul is a convenient way to participate - you can provide comments and participate in discussions even if you can't make it to evening meetings. Please help us spread the word through Facebook or Twitter, or by simply talking to your neighbors and friends. You can even share your post online and invite your friends to support it.
As with any public comment process, participation in Open Saint Paul is voluntary; the City will consider feedback from this forum along with input from public meetings, emails, letters, and public testimony. Similar to a public hearing, each participant is limited to one comment per topic. This prevents any one person from dominating the discussion with multiple comments. You are welcome to write as much as you like or change your original statement.
When you post your first statement, you will be asked for your name and address. This information is only used to identify statements from residents in and near Saint Paul - so that users know which statements are from local residents. Your name will be shown with your statement but your address will remain confidential. If you would like to contribute to the conversation without your name appearing on the internet, please send us a letter or drop us a line via email. All communication with the city is considered part of the public record. Learn more about the public record.
Open Saint Paul is run by OpenGov, a non-partisan company whose mission is to broaden civic engagement and build public trust in government. They will keep your address confidential per their strict privacy agreement.
However you choose to participate, thanks for helping us build a better Saint Paul!
