  • When you think about a new Lubber Run Community Center, what do you envision yourself doing there?

Getting exercise with new aerobic and weightlifting equipment, taking classes and participating in social events of various kinds.

  • Do you or members of your household currently participate in activities at the Lubber Run Community Center?
    • Yes
  • If yes, approximately how often do you or members of your household visit the Lubber Run Community Center?
    • Few times per year
  • What types of spaces and uses should the new Lubber Run Community Center have?

Exercise areas; classrooms; and social meet & greet areas: the Walter Reed facility is a good model.

  • When you think about the immediate area surrounding a new Lubber Run Community Center, what type of spaces and uses should be accommodated on the site?

I do NOT envision a new facility that serves as housing: this is not the purpose of a "Community Center" -- leave the housing component to homes, apartments, condos and townhouses elsewhere, of which there is aplenty.

  • In what ways can a new Lubber Run Community Center have an impact on the community?

No more new housing on that site. The Ballston corridor is already overcrowded with new townhouses and apartments along George Mason at that location. Overcrowding and parking shortages are already problematic.

  • Do you have a favorite community center in Arlington? If so, which center and why is it your favorite?

TJ's: it has a little bit of everything!

  • What is your home zip code?
    • 22203
