  • When you think about a new Lubber Run Community Center, what do you envision yourself doing there?

Enjoying the park, attending classes (particularly for our kids).

  • Do you or members of your household currently participate in activities at the Lubber Run Community Center?
    • Yes
  • If yes, approximately how often do you or members of your household visit the Lubber Run Community Center?
    • Few times per month
  • What types of spaces and uses should the new Lubber Run Community Center have?

Multipurpose rooms to accommodate a wide range of classes, such as music and dance. Flexible configurations that can be made into multiple smaller rooms or fewer larger rooms.

  • When you think about the immediate area surrounding a new Lubber Run Community Center, what type of spaces and uses should be accommodated on the site?

The park is lovely but the trail through it leaves a lot to be desired. It should be repaved and made more level. Most importantly, it should better connect to the surrounding neighborhoods, particularly to the W&OD trail (optimally via a tunnel under 50) and to protected bike infrastructure on George Mason. Also, the crossing of George Mason at Park should be made safer, with stepped up enforcement of the crosswalk, and probably a signal.

  • In what ways can a new Lubber Run Community Center have an impact on the community?

In addition to providing much needed space for ArlCo classes, the park could provide a vital link in the bike network if it connected safely to the W&OD trail.

  • Do you have a favorite community center in Arlington? If so, which center and why is it your favorite?

    No

  • What is your home zip code?
