No response.
What types of spaces and uses should the new Lubber Run Community Center have?
room for large parties (i.e. Santa visits every year, Easter Egg hunt, etc.) I would like to continue to see the neighborhood activities held at LRCC. I would like to continue to see after school programs for elementary school kids. i would like to continue to see the local ethnic groups have space to practice their dances and music. Summer kids camps. I would like to add a workout space. Our surrounding neighborhood is a LOT of apartments and it would be nice to have a large exercise place. Maybe even a nature center type of space/outdoor education.
When you think about the immediate area surrounding a new Lubber Run Community Center, what type of spaces and uses should be accommodated on the site?
definitely a playground for little kids. A space to play soccer, basketball, volleyball. KEEP THE TREES. Lubber Run should be disturbed as little as possible due to our vibrant wildlife.

Space to bring together the community for events, as well as space for individual groups to get together. There is a LOT of affordable housing in the area, and there needs to be a good focus on kids and after school activities. Maybe even a space for HeadStart. That is why the green space is so important.
