When you think about a new Lubber Run Community Center, what do you envision yourself doing there?
Community meetings, recreational classes, a space to hold parties, neighborhood meetings, camp classes in the summer.
Do you or members of your household currently participate in activities at the Lubber Run Community Center?
No
If yes, approximately how often do you or members of your household visit the Lubber Run Community Center?
No response.
What types of spaces and uses should the new Lubber Run Community Center have?
Classroom and meeting space, recreational hall space for events during the fall/winter and inclement weather. If built out with expanded recreational space, it can be used as one of the facilities that Arlington Parks and Recreation can use to house their programs. Our family participates in a lot of the classes that Parks and Recreation provide. I'd really love to see more offerings at Lubber Run for kids and adults alike (Yoga, language, music and arts, etc.)
When you think about the immediate area surrounding a new Lubber Run Community Center, what type of spaces and uses should be accommodated on the site?
I'd like to see improvements made to the children's playground given the over dependency to use the Barrett School playground; accommodations made for the elderly to access programs given the proximity to Culpepper Gardens; and that consideration be given to use the Community Center as a polling place (it may already be one, but we vote at Culpepper Gardens).
In what ways can a new Lubber Run Community Center have an impact on the community?
It's a great resource to bring the Arlington Forest community together and if the space is revitalized for greater use, other parts of the community will participate also.
Do you have a favorite community center in Arlington? If so, which center and why is it your favorite?
Arlington Mill - it's completely recreational with ample space to hold events. Parking has been hidden away under the building which reduces the congestion for an area with limited parking.
What is your home zip code?
22203
