I think a new Lubber Run Community Center is long over due and I am THRILLED. I envision our family continuing to use the playground and depending on the classes, athletics, camps, activities offered there would use those too. It could be a cornerstone to the community.

Outside it should have all playgrounds for various age groups, spray ground, sand pit, open green space for running, picnic area(s)/shelter, bathroom, educational nature trail and volley ball court. Inside it should have a large gathering/meeting space, sufficient kitchen, multiple rooms for activities/classes, computer lab, pre-school room, etc.

This should ONLY be a community center with playgrounds for various age groups, spray ground, sand pit, open green space for running, picnic area(s)/shelter, bathroom, educational nature trail and volley ball court. Below ground parking to provide more green space is ideal. Do not try to mix-use it with housing.

A new Community Center would provide more opportunities for classes through the County (they fill up in minutes!). Green space for animals and people is good for all. It would provide a WALKABLE option to folks in the Arlington Forest, Ballston, Buckingham, and other neighborhoods. It is on a major bus route also helpful to a car-free Arlington.

We do not have a favorite, but have been to Lubber Run, Fairlington, Barcroft, and both W&L and Wakefield pools. Not to mention libraries - Central, Shirlington, and Carlin Hall.
