  • What types of spaces and uses should the new Lubber Run Community Center have?

New building in similar position but closer to George Mason. Larger footprint but not radically so. Underground or ground level parking from George Mason. Traffic light at Park Drive with vastly improved pedestrian access. Four or five stories above ground, enough for awesome indoor public facilities like Arlington Mill plus two levels for housing or school.

  • When you think about the immediate area surrounding a new Lubber Run Community Center, what type of spaces and uses should be accommodated on the site?

The current surface parking should be replaced with green space. Outdoor basketball courts and group dancing area but not lighted. Keep all the current green space but improve access from down in the park and from third street. Larger gazebo area. Bathrooms in building accessible by outdoor users 24/7.
