If you use the sand volleyball court, how would you improve upon it?
I am the owner of Orange Line Sports, I run the summer volleyball league at Quincy Park. I also adopted the sand court so I help maintain the courts throughout the summer. Because the court is in high demand we need to have lights installed around the court in order to allow for more play. Installing a second court would be ideal because it would also allow two games to play which would speed up the summer league and allow more time for drop in groups. The court is also built on slight slope, which means any balls that are hit out of bounds are funneled away from the court. Once a ball is hit out of bounds it has a tendency to roll into the road or all the way to the basketball courts. There should be a enclosed barrier around the court that helps contain the ball if a second court is built, otherwise the balls from one court will constantly roll onto another court.. Their is also a tree which is right next to the court which interferes with play constantly. The tree itself is not an issue, but the branches growing on the court are the issue. They need to be trimmed back. Finally, in order to avoid any injury the metal poles need to be encased in padding in case anyone accidentally runs into the poles. It is a safety issue especially if people are diving in the sand head first.

No response. The intent of the new playground is that it will use 'universal’ design features. That is, children with disabilities and for children without disabilities. With that being said, are there any other features you would like to see at the playground?
