Arlington needs to find a way to tax or otherwise make event planners pay. It seems most of them have little to no connection to the community and effectively coerce bars into participating. It's great how many people the crawls bring to the area, they're an important part of getting DC people to Arlington, but the event planners need to pay for the effects of what happen when the crawl technically ends but the people keep on drinking.
There also needs to be more strict line management. Perhaps the county could place limits on the number of tickets sold based on the max capacity of all the participating bars multiplied by some factor of time the crawl lasts?
