Please share any additional comments concerning the proposed change. (Optional) The conversion of one tennis court to two permanent pickleball courts is sorely needed. Prince George’s County has over 310 permanent outdoor tennis courts and only eight permanent outdoor pickleball courts. Given the surge of pickleball players in the past three years, more permanent courts cannot be overstated.

Additionally, the new five outdoor pickleball courts at the Fairland Sports & Aquatics Complex are unusable due to the lack of safety fencing between the courts. Fixing this problem and planning for safety fencing for the Beltsville Community Center must be a top priority for the M-NCPPC if these courts are going to be effectively used.

I look forward to working with the M-NCPPC to address these safety issues and converting more underutilized tennis courts to permanent pickleball courts at any time.

Please share any additional comments concerning the proposed change. (Optional) Me and my children frequently use the courts for tennis. Often the other court is occupied by someone else playing tennis. If there was only one tennis court, we would be out of luck.
I understand there is a pickleball league Saturday mornings (and I am actually considering joining), however it seems the league makes due with the existing setup. So it seems like pickleball can still take place on the tennis court setup, however I fear that tennis could not take place on a fixed pickleball setup. For that reason, I strongly prefer to keep the two tennis courts

(Optional) There are many groups of tennis players who use these two courts on a regular weekly basis and it would be devastating for all of us to remove one for pickleball. Even now, we typically have to wait for one group to finish, in order to play on a court. The courts were just renovated two years ago, and I think that would be a waste of tax dollars to change it so soon.

Please share any additional comments concerning the proposed change. (Optional) I have been using the tennis courts for eight years. During, spring, summer, and fall, both courts are often taken on weekdays. There are even people waiting. I will say, the courts are not as widely used on the weekends. If you do decide to convert one court, please consider converting the furthest court from the entrance. Everyone I know that plays regularly at the courts consider the tennis court closest to the entrance to be in the best shape and also has the best lighting in the evenings. I really hope a tennis court is not converted. I do understand pickle ball is very popular, but the tennis courts at this location do get a lot of use. Thank you.

The color scheme for the EAST SIDE playground equipment will remain mostly the same after the refresh, but the rubber safety surface colors and pattern will change. The new surfacing may be a mix of multiple colors. Which color palettes do you prefer (pick up to two)? COOL: Greens

Just wish that you all would allow at least til 12:00 -1:00 am when doing evening gatherings!
