It discourages people who would want to play, especially our seniors and younger kids because it’s to heavy to pull out and put them together. Although it’s nice that PC County has provided containers with pickleball nets I found that some of the containers are locked at certain parks so you have no way of accessing them. It’s also distracting for the tennis players who now have extra lines all over the courts.
Are there other park locations in Bowie you feel would be appropriate for Pickleball? Fox hill park is a great location to build dedicated pickle ball courts. It has enough room to build 6 to 12 courts and they have lights already.

The location is good on a major route and not close to homes or apartments. I also think there is lighting as well.

Pickleball is growing and an amazing community building sport. People of all ages can play competitive games together. Participants deserve the same that Tennis and Basketball players experience, they should be able to show up to a court and play without setting up a net and taking it down every time. This would also reduce the "conflict" between sports since right now Pickleball is played on either Tennis or Basketball courts.

I'm happy to help in the process and advocate for dedicated Pickleball Courts. We have so many underutilized Tennis courts in Bowie already, let's share the joy and grow this amazing community building sport. There is so much opportunity for young kids to thrive at the sport, we need the infrastructure for the community to play! This sport has a low cost associated with starting to play and is accessible to a wide range of people.
Are there other park locations in Bowie you feel would be appropriate for Pickleball? Yes. Meadowbrook playground/park on Moylan Dr would be a fantastic location also. In 5 years, I have seen only 1 tennis player other than myself and family there. I also think many of the current Tennis Courts could potentially convert one Tennis Court at a location into two Pickleball Courts and there would still be enough opportunity for all participants for both sports.
