Share your experience with Uplift Local.
Uplift Local connects the community together through expanded outdoor dining and retail options while at a safe distance from others. We'd love to hear from you about your experience. As the program and restrictions evolve, the City would like to hear from you on your experience and also hear from you on potential changes to the effort.
The Uplift Local initiative provides pedestrian only areas while balancing other spaces in Palo Alto business districts such as California Avenue and the downtown core for curbside pickup and delivery. This aspect of the Uplift Local program runs through October 2021, however, changes could be implemented before that time. As more business activities are allowed by the Santa Clara County Public Health Officer and State Public Health, these areas and others strive to offer expanded outdoor dining, retail, personal services, and outdoor gyms and fitness options connecting the community together by providing a sense of normal during these challenging times. The effort continues to evolve based on the changing conditions of the pandemic and community and business input.
In June 2021, staff will be presenting options for Council consideration, proposing changes including potentially reopening University Avenue and related downtown streets and California Avenue earlier than October, 2021. Share your feedback today.
