You told us what you envision for Emerson Park - now tell us what you think!
The City of Midland is undergoing the master planning process for Emerson Park. Earlier this year, we held in-person public input sessions and launched a survey to capture ideas and input on the amenities and activities the community desires for Emerson Park. Now, we're asking you to consider that design and make specific comments and suggestions right on the map!
How can I participate?
In this topic, you'll see a map of the proposed design elements that have been created by consultant PM Blough, Inc. based upon previous feedback we've received. Share your comments on the design directly on the map and support others' comments if you agree with them. There is also a general feedback section below the map where additional comments can be made.
Remember: No funding source has been identified for these improvements at this time and any improvements would be incrementally added to Emerson Park over time, not all at once.
What's next?
Feedback from this topic and a public input session on October 7 will be used to provide updated conceptual designs of the park that will be shared at an upcoming City Council meeting to consider approval of the draft Master Plan.
This survey will close on October 25, 2024 at 5 p.m.

Help us plan the future of City Forest!
Midland Parks and Recreation is considering the future of City Forest - and we want you to be a part of it!
Located at 2840 E. Monroe Rd., Midland, MI 48642 (just west of the corner of Eastman Rd and Monroe Rd.), City Forest is comprised of 520 acres of hardwoods and pines and is perfect for year-round activities including hiking, horseback trail riding, birding and wildlife watching, mountain biking, sledding, ice skating, snowshoeing, and more. The City of Midland is embarking on a master planning process for this park, which will include identifying future land use, amenities, and activities that will guide the development of the park over time.
How can I participate?
The first step in this process is to collect input from residents. You're in the right place!
In this survey, you'll be asked questions about how you currently use City Forest; your favorite memories from using it; and what facilities, activities, and events you'd like to see developed in this area in the future. Feedback from this survey will be used to develop preliminary conceptual design of the park that will be shared at the December 4 Parks & Recreation Commission meeting.
This survey should take roughly 5-10 minutes to complete. It will close on October 14, 2024 at midnight.
