UPDATE: Survey Feedback Provided to Council, Street Closures Extended

At the Monday, July 27 City Council meeting, Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Selina Tisdale presented feedback from this survey to the Midland City Council and asked, based upon this feedback, for an extension of the pedestrian plazas through September. Council voted unanimously 5-0 to extend the closure of two blocks of Main Street at Ashman and McDonald streets through September 27, 2020. From July 8 - 22, this topic collected 486 responses, which equates to 24.3 hours of public comment (based up on 3 minutes of comment per response). Feedback from this survey was shared with the Downtown Development Authority, Midland Downtown Business Association, City staff, and the Midland City Council to gauge the community's interest in the pedestrian plazas and a possible extension of this closure into Fall 2020.
