Share input on the proposed Master Plan design for Emerson Park
You told us what you envision for Emerson Park - now tell us what you think!
Midland Parks and Recreation is considering the future of Emerson Park - and we want you to be a part of it!
The City of Midland is undergoing the master planning process for Emerson Park. Earlier this year, we held in-person public input sessions and launched a survey to capture ideas and input on the amenities and activities the community desires for Emerson Park. (You can view the results of that survey here.) The Midland City Council asked for additional input on this proposed design plan at its September 30, 2024 City Council meeting. (You can view that meeting here.)
Now, we're asking you to consider that design and make specific comments and suggestions right on the map!
How can I participate?
In this topic, you'll see a map of the proposed design elements that have been created by consultant PM Blough, Inc. based upon previous feedback we've received. Take a look at the design and click on the annotation (speech) bubbles located on various places of the design to leave feedback for that area. There is also a general feedback section below the map where additional comments can be made. You will also have the opportunity to support others' comments if you agree with them. Just click on the 'Add Your Annotation' button below to get started!
Remember: No funding source has been identified for these improvements at this time and any improvements would be incrementally added to Emerson Park over time, not all at once.
A note about development in the floodplain
Emerson Park is located within the Tittabawassee River floodplain and has been impacted by previous flooding events. This is an important factor that will be considered as we move through the master planning process and may limit the types of development that can be built in this area.
What's next?
Feedback from this topic and a public input session on August 7 will be used to provide updated conceptual designs of the park that will be shared at an upcoming City Council meeting to consider approval of the draft Master Plan.

This survey will close on October 25, 2024 at 5 p.m.
