Timing of the lights to accommodate traffic at different times of day, particularly so traffic doesn't back up on westbound Mineral, causing commuters to take shortcuts through residential areas. What do you think of the quad road solution?
In one word, how would you hope to describe the new and improved Santa Fe Drive and Mineral Avenue intersection in the future after improvements are constructed?
BetterOverall, do you have any questions or concerns about the project?
The City needs to give much more weight to impacts on residents who live in the area, vs commuters in personal vehicles who are just passing through and have transit alternatives like mass transit or bicycling. Do not want a grade-separated intersection as some are suggesting - this would have a very negative impact on the character of the surrounding areas, including residential, wildlife and riparian areas east and west of Santa Fe, increase traffic and pollution at this intersection ("build it and they will come"), decrease ped safety and create an access barrier for residents, peds, and bicyclists on the east and west sides of Santa Fe, and increase speeds on Mineral, negatively impacting the safety at Mineral intersections like Long/Jackass Hill and the Highline Canal. Work with RTD (and CDOT) to advocate for funding to build the planned light rail extension to Lucent, to help take vehicle traffic pressure off this intersection.
