Understanding that the overall focus on single family, commuter based living is not conducive to solving the either the housing crisis or the climate crisis. Providing dense, walkable living (e.g. increasing apartment options near/on Main Street) can improve the quality of residents' lives while increasing housing stock, and also significantly reduce pollution in a variety of ways (e.g. reduction in transportation emissions, reduction in emissions from not having to use shipping services such as Amazon, etc).
