During soccer games, the parking situation feels dangerous. Cars park on both sides of S Prescott St (leaving a narrow path for two-way traffic), children run into the street from in between parked cars, drivers make unpredictable U-turns in the middle of the street, etc.
Two suggestions come to mind:
1) Use signs to attempt to encourage through traffic (using the loop of S Windemere Street, S Prescott Street, and W Kettle Ave)
2) Designate the North side of S Prescott St as 45-degree diagonal, pull-in parking with painted parking spots. Forbid parking on the South side of S Prescott St. This way there are more parking spots on the Southbridge Park side of the street, children do not have to cross the street, drivers should be able to better see vehicles pulling out of parking spots (and vice-versa), and it encourages folks leaving the park to continue forwards and turn right onto W Kettle Ave.
New play structures for children ages 2-5 & 5-12 years are being proposed. Which playground equipment option do you prefer?
No response. Are there any park features that you think should be left as they are?
If I'm reading the proposal correctly, the plan is to remove a tree and an ADA-compliant curb cutout? I would like to see all trees preserved (if possible) and if anything, even more shade trees added.
Again, it appears you're removing one wheelchair cutout and adding another - why not leave both?
It says you're removing the chain link fence around the basketball court - I think that's just to enlarge it to a full size court? But I always thought the chain link fence was a nice feature to keep your errant passes and shots from rolling away (especially towards the parking lot)
