The Multi-Modal Transportation Commission is seeking input from Lawrence residents for non-motorized (bicycle & pedestrian) projects as part of the annual Non-Motorized Projects Prioritization to develop a prioritized list of bicycle and pedestrian projects. The current prioritized projects represent the community’s priorities identified in the Regional Pedestrian Plan (Draft), Safe Routes to School Plan, and Lawrence Bikes Plan.
The commission is asking Lawrence residents to review the prioritized bicycle/pedestrian projects to determine if there are projects residents would like to have considered for inclusion on the priority projects list. Types of projects can include, but are not limited to, sidewalks, bike facilities, crossing improvements, shared-use paths, etc.
Please submit project(s) ideas you would like considered. Please be as specific as possible, including type of infrastructure requested, location, and any relevant information related to the project idea. All projects submitted will be evaluated for appropriateness before being included in the prioritized list. Projects included on the list will be scored and considered for construction with bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure funding identified in the Capital Improvement Plan.
The Multi-modal Transportation Commission is hoping to hear from residents about projects that have not already been identified in approved plans. Current lists of projects that have been presented to the Lawrence City Commission:
