John Haynes Memorial Veterans Hall, in Garberville. It has been years since this vital meeting space has been available to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and other groups. This space is integral to our needs as veterans and the community at large. We have the largest per capita percentage of veterans in the State, in Southern Humboldt, and they live in the hills, in isolation, especially now, when there is no where to meet. We need, as Veterans, to continue giving to our community. Our Christmas dinners, T-giving dinners, disaster planning, rap groups, supervisorial debates, Wage Peace Cafe, free movie night, respite for campers in sub-zero temperatures. We need connectedness. Is mold worse than covid? Couldn't we just wear masks in the Vets Hall? Thank you for providing a platform to express my views. This is the highest priority for the Veterans. I know--I am one.
