    why don't you move the permitting / planning facility to the old K Mart location I'm pretty sure that area has plenty of room and parking. The old area is too congested for it and mental health.

    Let the mental health / corner office have that whole area for their facility and parking Health and human services , homeless should be before law enforcement / administration

    The law enforcement offices get plenty of money already so they should be lower then may of the other offices in need They could take over other buildings that become vacant if they want to move out of the courthouse.
    The supervisors take enough money from the county and should get nothing! No raises either -- money should go to education / food for all children and the homeless. This is VERY VERY important!!

    We have uncertainty with our future so we have to concentrate on the basic needs first which is Health Education Food and housing! First and foremost!. As the economy improves we can slowly add the other things.

General Questions

Humboldt County Board of Supervisors resolution number 85-115 on December 10, 1985, formed the Humboldt County Public Property Leasing Corporation (HCPPLC).  The HCPPLC is a nonprofit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. The HCPPLC is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for public purposes. The specific and primary purpose for which the HCPPLC is formed is to provide assistance to the County of Humboldt by acquiring, constructing, improving, remodeling, and equipping, or providing for the acquisition, construction, improvement, remodeling and equipping, of real and personal property of any kind or nature whatsoever and by making such property available, by lease or otherwise, to the County for use by the County in performing the County's governmental functions.

Many state and federal programs require that funding be used on leased space, rather than county-owned space. By leasing from the HCPPL, the HCPPL would actually own the facility, and would be able to draw down state and federal dollars that would help the HCPPL pay for the building.
