The need for a makeover is evident and welcomed. My initial concern looking at the map is that you do not appear to have the driveway for Sherwood Forest Motel correctly labeled on the left of Calico's, between Garberville Realty. There is an arrow on the right of Calico's, which is basically the parking lot for the gas station, but our entrance is on the left of Calico's and to the right of Garberville Realty on your map. There appear to be three 'accent' trees planned in the middle of where someone would need to turn directly in to our entrance. You also do not have "Lodging" marked in this area for our business. Please correct. We cannot have access to our entrance blocked in either direction by trees in the middle of the street, please. One other thing to note is semi-truck deliveries to businesses in town also ordinarily park in front of our entrance when making deliveries, which we are not wild about anyhow, but large truck deliveries do happen and may want to be considered in your plan as well, in a way that does not impact traffic/businesses.

Love the idea of something welcoming for visitors. It's hard to tell how it will be accessed - if by car, is there a place to pull over in the turnabout to see the info? If it's important just to have something welcoming and visible when someone enters the town, seems fine.

Hard to visualize the parking...but like the idea of decorative street lights

Highlighting crosswalks would be good - if you plant more shade trees in the middle of the street, will that encourage homeless to camp underneath them directly in front of businesses?

This section is a problem for me - on the upper left side of the pink dotted area is the driveway to Sherwood Forest Motel, not marked on your map. You have three trees where our driveway is. As long as the trees/crosswalk area do not obstruct our entrance (between Garberville Realty and Calico's Cafe, also please mark this as 'Lodging'). Honestly, we aren't incredibly wild about the bus stop being there because homeless hang out in front of Calico's/our driveway claiming they are 'waiting' for the bus, even if there is none. Loitering is a huge problem and a deterrent for business. So you can make it pretty all you want, but unless that issue is addressed it may not help a lot.
