I am in ill health and losing free access to these parks nearby would severely hamper the little joy I take in my existence. I would hate to see a charge at these parks for both myself, local residents and visiting tourists.

What would be the impacts if certain County parks are closed?

Loss of joy in outdoor experience. I moved to Humboldt to enjoy the outdoors at no cost. I walk often on Clam Beach and would HATE to see my access curtailed by fees and restrictions. I was glad that outdoor vehicles are no longer allowed on this coastline. I have lived here since 1981 and cannot imagine having to pay for access to these currently no fee parks. I think Humboldt County can come up with other clever ideas for recouping insurance costs that could be both revenue producing and of benefit for all. I suggest convening think tanks and brainstorming of ways to improve a revenue stream. We are incredibly intelligent when teaming together to solve problems such as these.

I always carry a plastic bag with me when walking any of these no fee areas. I would encourage walkers to do the same. It is pleasant and makes a natural contribution to upkeep.
