I visit county parks several times a week. I am an avid climber and backpacker/camper. I love to skimboard. I love to run. I love to simply unwind at the beach or in the forest. As a busy, low-income college student, I rely on the incredible accessibility of local parks and there is no way I can afford to continue this active lifestyle during the school year if each visit pokes at my wallet. I work my hardest to give back to these awesome resources during my visits, picking up trash and reminding others to respect our Home. All of my friends (and the majority of frequent park visitors, especially locals) do the same. I fear that putting a price on visits will only decrease visitation by locals, resulting in the majority of visits being by tourists, who generally are more disrespectful to the land.

Stated in my last written response.

Honestly, I'd rather see a park closed than its rates raised dramatically. I'd rather the nature be returned to its natural state and left for those local ecosystems to enjoy and thrive in than for parks to become inhabitated primarily by out-of-area visitors.
