  • What would you change about "Draft Plan A, District A"?

    The difficult question is where to put the Willow Creek area. To have a district that extends from Shelter Cove to Willow Creek seems so geographically daunting for any supervisor to cover. They will have to constantly be on the road. Willow Creek would seem to belong better to any other District except D. I recognize that the challenge is to deal with the reality that the population centers are all in the north half of the county.

    The northern portion of Eureka is so different than Arcata with many different issues. Arcata seems more connected to Blue Lake.

    This option seems to make the most sense to me. It does not split up Southern Humboldt, keeps Willow Creek with Hoopa, Orleans, and McK north, keeps Arcata whole.
