The entire map looks like an elaborate gerrymander. Eureka and Arcata have distinct and different interests. To the greatest degree possible, each city should remain wholly within a single and separate district from one another.

This total map is superior to Draft Plan A by a million miles. However, it could be improved by doing more to keep Eureka and Arcata in tact and separate as these are distinct communities with very partic interests. For example, Eureka's chief concerns are around the harbor and the impacts of being the seat of county government and social services, whereas Arcata's chief concerns are related to the University and housing.

This map is the best of the three because it keeps Arcata and Eureka separate and in tact to the greatest degree possible, recognizing their unique issues and constituencies.
Any other comments you would like to share with the Redistricting Advisory Commission?
Please scrap Draft Plan A. It is unacceptable to divide Eureka into multiple districts in this way. Eureka is the seat of County Government with distinct interests and challenges. It should not be hacked into pieces and divided amongst its neighbors.
