How well does the above draft map showing all proposed districts represent your community?
How well does “Draft Plan A, District A” represent your community?
What would you change about "Draft Plan A, District A"?
stretching from the southern edge of Eureka to Shelter Cove makes no sense at all, southern humboldt should be a contiguous, separate district from anything north of Ferndale.
What would you keep about "Draft Plan A, District A"?
Nothing, this district makes no sense in relation to the community
How well does “Draft Plan A, District B” represent your community?
What would you change about "Draft Plan A, District B"?
Combine all of the southern half of humboldt (everything south of Fortuna), keep all Fortuna addresses together.
What would you keep about "Draft Plan A, District B"?
Keeping the portions east of Fortuna together as one district
How well does “Draft Plan A, District C” represent your community?
What would you change about "Draft Plan A, District C"?
Everything. Eureka and Arcata are 100% separated here, you would have to go through District D to get from the Eureka part of District C to the Arcata part. Eureka and Arcata are completely separate cities with very culturally separate communities.
What would you keep about "Draft Plan A, District C"?
Nothing. This district makes zero sense.
How well does “Draft Plan A, District D” represent your community?
What would you change about “Draft Plan A, District D”?
Follow the zip code division a bit more closely, 95501 and 95503. Neighborhoods south of Harris st and those on and north of Harris st could easily work as two separate districts. What would you keep about “Draft Plan A, District D”?
Keep Myrtletown with northeast Eureka, other than that this district doesn't make much sense. How well does “Draft Plan A, District E” represent your community?
What would you change about “Draft Plan A, District E”?
Combine the Arcata bottoms with the rest of Arcata, possibly exchange with Blue Lake or a similar sized community near Blue Lake.
What would you keep about “Draft Plan A, District E”?
Everything else works well.

Overall, this map demonstrates a completely uninformed concept of how Humboldt county's communities are realistically divided. There is a natural division in Eureka, and that is the division between north and south. The further north you go, the more cohesive the northern section of Eureka is. I've lived in Eureka my entire life in a few different neighborhoods, and I've been a delivery driver in Eureka for 2 years. The natural divisions are clear, and feedback from Eureka residents will reflect this.

No response. How well does “Draft Plan B, District A” represent your community?
What would you change about “Draft Plan B, District A”?
I don't understand the need to separate the coastal portion of Southern Humboldt from the eastern portion, yet combine with communities with Eureka addresses. I also don't understand why Willow Creek and Shelter Cove should be in the same district, they are as different and far apart as 2 communities can be.
What would you keep about “Draft Plan B, District A”?
Nothing. Needs to at least be split in half and reallocated.
How well does “Draft Plan B, District B” represent your community?
What would you change about “Draft Plan B, District B”?
Same feedback from Draft Plan A applies here
What would you keep about “Draft Plan B, District B”?
See above
How well does “Draft Plan B, District C” represent your community?
What would you change about “Draft Plan B, District C”?
This separation of Eureka is equally as uninformed as that found in Draft A.
What would you keep about “Draft Plan B, District C”?
The only thing that makes this one better is that it doesn't combine Eureka with Arcata proper.
How well does “Draft Plan B, District D” represent your community?
What would you change about “Draft Plan B, District D”?
Everything. Myrtletown and Arcata are not contiguous and have nothing in common unless you combine the rural section of Myrtle ave and Old Arcata Road with one or the other.
What would you keep about “Draft Plan B, District D”?
Keep Myrtletown together and keep these parts of Arcata together, but not combined as one district.
How well does “Draft Plan B, District E” represent your community?
What would you change about “Draft Plan B, District E”?
I've noticed Hoopa isn't combined with Willow Creek but it should be. If you have to drive through another district to get from one part to the other, it is likely poorly drawn. Also combine the Arcata bottoms with the rest of Arcata. Other than that, the rest of Northern Humboldt looks correct.
What would you keep about “Draft Plan B, District E”?
Combine Mckinleyville, Trinidad, Orick, and the communities directly east of them.

Similar sentiment from Draft Plan A applies here, although Draft Plan B is slightly better than the former.

What would you change about “Draft Plan C, District A”?
Kneeland could be part of A, B or E. The southern section of Eureka should not be combined with Ferndale, Fortuna, or Petrolia.
What would you keep about “Draft Plan C, District A”?
Pretty much everything else.
How well does “Draft Plan C, District B” represent your community?
What would you change about “Draft Plan C, District B”?
I don't see Fortuna proper as part of southern Humboldt. Inland areas slightly north could be combined instead and still make sense.

Leave Kneeland out, and combine with the rest of the Giuntolli region of Arcata.

Everything else

This is the best representation of Eureka that I can imagine. No changes.

Everything.

Everything

This is much better than Draft Plan A or B.
Any other comments you would like to share with the Redistricting Advisory Commission?
Draft Plan C is the only plan that makes actual sense in regards to community divisions, especially with regards to Eureka. Eureka should be divided primarily between north and south, and the southern coast of Humboldt should be combined with the rest of Humboldt that is south of Fortuna.
