Chaplin District Plan Community Survey
The Chaplin District is a vibrant coastal area that blends residential neighborhoods, recreational facilities, and beachfront access. Anchored by the expansive Chaplin Community Park, the district is home to some of Hilton Head Island’s largest clusters of multi-family housing, offering a unique mix of community living and outdoor recreation. Its array of beach parks and waterfront connections makes it a cherished destination for residents and visitors.
As part of the Districts Area Planning Project, your voice is essential in shaping the future of the Chaplin District. Together, we aim to preserve its natural beauty, enhance recreational opportunities, and support thoughtful growth to maintain its coastal charm and livability.
Geographically, the Chaplin District is just over half a mile wide, stretching from Broad Creek to the west to the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Folly Field Road provides access to popular destinations such as Islanders Beach Park and Folly Field Beach Park, while Driessen Beach Park and Chaplin Community Park anchor the district’s southern area, which borders the Palmetto Dunes neighborhood.
This survey should take about 10 minutes to complete - a small amount of time to have some big impact. Your insights are very important as we enter the next phase of this planning and collaborate with the district community to determine next steps. Thank you for your time and thoughtful ideas.
