Until Covid-19 hit and decimated our local casino based economy, the community center was in the truest sense, a real community center encompassing county residents from the youngest members with swim lessons etc through senior exercise classes and luncheons. Due to the rural nature of Gilpin County, there are very few indoor spaces in the county where citizens can spend their time and energy safely and productively.
