  • Do you support widening the right of way on Milton Road for the purpose of:
    • adding dedicated bus lanes - Strongly Support
    • adding travel lanes (for all vehicles) - Neutral
    • adding bicycle lanes - Support
    • landscaped areas (landscaped areas act as a buffer between traffic and pedestrians) - Strongly Support
  • Do you have any additional comments about widening Milton Road or not?

To achieve multimodal options, you need more space, so Milton will need to be widened to achieve this. I don't believe the public cares too much about widening Milton since it is such an ugly mess anyway.

  • How many buildings would you be willing to remove in order to add the following features?
    • Adding dedicated bus lanes - 11-20
    • Adding travel lanes (for all vehicles) - 1-10
    • Adding bicycle lanes - 11-20
    • Wider sidewalks - 21-30
    • Landscaped areas - 21-30
  • Do you have any other comments about potential impacts to buildings on Milton Road?
Ideally this ADOT plan would have included a land use plan to align the community vision for Milton as a key entry to the community. With two often dueling jurisdictions (ADOT for the road and City for the land use), it make coordination and implementation of a community corridor vision impossible. Both public and private projects get bogged down by bureaucrats and technocrats.
  • How many parking lots would you be willing to remove in order to add the following features?
    • Adding dedicated bus lanes - 21-30
    • Adding travel lanes (for all vehicles) - 11-20

    • Wider sidewalks - 31+
    • landscaped areas - 31+
  • Do you have any other comments about potential impacts to parking lots on Milton Road?
Lots of wasted space for parking along Milton. Some of those parking stalls are actually in ADOT ROW anyway so private owners have benefited from this additional use of public row for private interests.
  • What types of enhancements are needed on Milton Road? Please rate each improvement.

  • Do you think there are other enhancements that are needed on Milton Road?
    • parallel bike cycle track along Riordan (backage road)
    • Overhead pedestrian crossing(s)
    • ITS/Smart Signals (coordinated)
  • A raised median on Milton Road could improve safety but would limit access and left turning movements to and from individual business driveways. Would you support the construction of a raised median on Milton Road?

    • One to two minutes per trip
  • Do you have any other comments about Milton Road enhancements that you would like to share?
hard to believe it is 7 minutes from WV to Humphrys....if that is really the case then by all means increase vehicle travel time by 2 plus minutes and give it to the pedestrians walking/crossing, bikes and getting to transit.

Why not slow traffic down? Business might get more drop in traffic if the entrances were attractive and appreciate people not just flying through or just trying to get through the ugliness

Help Evaluate Alternatives

All of the identified Build Alternatives (except the No-Build Alternative) would require some *impacts to properties along Milton Road if constructed. The widest alternative (Alternative 6a) could require the removal of more than 30 properties if constructed.

Questions 1-3 are targeted to understand how much property impacts (if any) you would be willing to accept in order to enhance the Milton Road corridor.

*Note: Property impacts are subject to change based on selecting and refining a Recommended Alternative. Funding has not yet been identified to construct any alternative (except the No-Build Alternative).
