What should Bus Rapid Transit look like in Flagstaff?

Mountain Line completed the Spine Study Locally Preferred Alternative Report in 2016 that identified a need for a high capacity transit corridor in Flagstaff. Recently, Mountain Line initiated the development phase of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project to study potential long-term improvements to bus service from Woodlands Village to the Flagstaff Medical Center.

BRT is a toolbox of transit enhancements that adds up to a faster trip and an improved experience. The BRT toolbox below are examples of tools that are applied as they make sense for each section of the corridor. With the right features, BRT avoids the causes of delay that typically slow regular bus service.

The purpose of the project is to identify, evaluate, and select a strategy and set of transit and multimodal transportation improvements to benefit the traveling public. See project goals below.
