In 2016, Flagstaff's City Council amended the Animal Keeping Code to enable residents to keep livestock and bees on their properties within City limits. In an effort to clarify regulations and reduce the potential for nuisances, City Council will be considering minor amendments to the Code in February 2019. As a result, Sustainability staff are seeking the community's input on the Code. We would like feedback from residents keeping livestock animals themselves, as well as from their neighbors about their experiences.
For reference, you can find out what type of animals are allowed under the current code, as well as the number of animals permitted based on sizes of properties by visiting this short guide.
