We need your input to help develop a plan that reflects the community’s values associated with planning a trailhead in the Schultz Creek area.
We need your help to develop a plan for the Schultz Creek area that reflects our community’s values. An ordinance (2017-07) of the Flagstaff City Council amended the Flagstaff zoning map to rezone approximately 20 acres of property located at 3620 Schultz Pass Road from Rural Residential to Public Open Space. Council gave further direction to use the parcel to provide access and connectivity to the Schultz Creek area. The "Y" parking, located at the intersection of Shultz Pass road and Elden Lookout road, is located on private property and may not be available for future parking.
The City of Flagstaff Open Space Program is responsible for managing over 3,000 acres of legally-designated open space properties, including this 20-acre parcel, indicated in the above map (3620 W Schultz Pass Rd., Parcel # 30047004). Outcomes of this survey will assist us in determining how best to proceed with providing connectivity from the Flagstaff Urban Trails System (FUTS) and adequate public access to the Schultz Creek trails and area.
The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete and allow you to comment on how this 20-acre parcel should be managed, including:
- Your interest and use of Schultz Creek trails and area.
- How providing access to Schultz Creek should be pursued.
- What trailhead issues you’re most concerned about.
- Opportunities that can be pursued to improve access to this area.
We highly value your feedback and appreciate your opinion. Thank you for your interest in helping guide the City of Flagstaff Open Space planning process for the Schultz Creek area.
