Help us plan for an extraordinary trail system in Flagstaff for all users.

The purpose of the Flagstaff Trails Initiative (FTI) is to develop and implement a collaborative strategy to improve the quality, connectivity, and community support for a recreational trail system in the Flagstaff region. The FTI is currently developing a strategy that will outline an initiative that identifies a system to jointly raise funds that go towards trail projects, creates a collaborative strategy for trails around Flagstaff for trail implementation and maintenance, plans and executes trail related conservation and restoration projects, and coordinates trail education events. We need your input to help develop a strategy that reflects the community’s values associated with our trail system. This survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete and allow you to tell us about:

• Your relationship with the Flagstaff trail network.
• What trail issues you are most concerned about. 
• What you perceive to be the biggest challenges of the Flagstaff trail system.
• How trails are assets and effect your livelihood.
• Opportunities that can enhance Flagstaff’s trails.

The FTI will include a mix of elements – like conceptual ideas for new trail connections, ways to support long-term trail maintenance improvements, and strategies to protect environmental quality. This project will focus on non-motorized and motorized trails inside the boundary of the Flagstaff Metropolitan Planning Organization, which extends from Bellemont to the west, Winona to the east, Sunset Crater to the north and Mountainaire to the south. It includes trails managed by the City of Flagstaff, Coconino National Forest, National Park Service, and Coconino County.
