How do you use McMillan Mesa Natural Area?

In 2016, Flagstaff voters ensured that 300-acres of City-owned land on McMillan Mesa would be permanently preserved as open space. The map below reflects the lands currently included in McMillan Mesa Natural Area. Open Space preservation means that these lands can never be developed, except in a way that supports outdoor recreation and environmental education opportunities for Flagstaff residents and visitors.

The Open Space Program is currently developing a management plan for the property, which will outline improvement projects, restoration needs, and infrastructure opportunities for the Natural Area.

The Flagstaff community worked hard to protect these lands, and now we need your input to help develop a management plan that reflects the community’s values associated with this special place. This survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete and allow you to tell us about:

Please note that this survey is focused on the planning for McMillan Mesa Natural Area, which does not include the nearby Buffalo Park or McPherson Park. Please be sure to think about your responses in the context of this specific new Natural Area in our City.
