Greater Observatory Mesa Trail Plan Draft
The Greater Observatory Mesa Trail Plan draft’s purpose is to design a formal trail system for implementation in the Observatory Mesa Natural Area and the adjacent properties of Lowell Observatory and Coconino National Forest. The plan includes recommendations on naturalization, trail alignments, visitor amenities, and appropriate uses. The final trail concept plan will be adopted to direct future management and trail implementation.
The purpose of the following survey is to ensure transparency and solicit community involvement in the plan’s development to make sure the plan preserves the area and supports community values. There are 16 questions; two of the survey questions provide a written feedback opportunity to explain your views and suggestions. It’s highly recommended to complete these questions since content will be used to revise the plan. Please be as specific and clear as you can by including details about location, solutions, identification numbers, etc. The estimated survey response time is 10 to 15 minutes.
Upon the completion of this public comment period (closes: 07/23/2022), the plan will be revised. When completed another comment period will take place from 08/08/2022 – 09/16/2022, with a second opportunity to review and comment on the revised draft. Feedback will again be reviewed and utilized to create the final concept for eventual adoption and management direction.
