Every April, the City of El Cerrito hosts an Earth Day Celebration through volunteerism at various locations around the city between 9am and 12noon.
A Volunteer Appreciation Lunch is hosted from 12noon until about 1.30pm at the Community Center. Some of the volunteer opportunities are work parties organized by the City or groups and have included: litter removal, native plant installation, weeding, graffiti abatement, and invasive plant removal. A Site Coordinator is necessary at each work party.
Site Coordinators help to manage the activity and volunteers. Tools and supplies for each activity are city provided. Volunteers are generated through publicity and Site Coordinators. Is there a location in the City that you have identified to need some TLC? Are you available to be the Site Coordinator? Please use this tool to map the location of interest. It will be reviewed for consideration.
