The Durango Public Library is developing a 3-year strategic plan and is seeking input from the community regarding the Library, its branches, and how the community uses the Library.
Thank you for participating!
Staff is developing strategic plan
Thank you for participating in the Durango Public Library’s survey on Virtual City Hall last spring. The Library’s team received input from community members such as yourselves, through both the survey and interviews. Jacqueline Murphy, consultant with the Colorado State Library, worked with Library Administration to receive input from the Staff and the Library advisory Board, and provided feedback to the Library team throughout the process. The Library team conducted research, and put careful thought into how the Library should move into the future to meet the needs of our community.
In July 2015, an initial draft was presented to the Library Advisory Board for their approval. This included our mission, vision, and values, along with strategic goals and objectives. With their approval, we moved forward to identify actions, objectives, initiatives and measurements that will put the plan into action and track progress. In January 2016, the final strategic plan was approved. The plan is available on the Durango Public Library’s web page: http://www.durangopubliclibrary.org/screens/DgoPubLibStratPlan2016-19.pdf. The Library staff is excited to bring this plan to life and provide the best library services to our community. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact Library Director Sandy Irwin at 375-3389.
