Last year, the City updated its website and mobile app. Do you have any feedback or suggestions about how we can improve communications?

    • Dublin Patch
    • Print Newspapers (please list in follow up question)
    • Other - Sometimes, word-of-mouth, which is neither efficient nor thorough. I would really like useful information and some in-depth articles pushed to me by subscription on a weekly/bi-weekly basis. I really appreciate the Open City Hall idea!

    Dublin Patch (infrequently access)
City of Dublin Web Site (rarely access)

Is Facebook one of the ways the City of Dublin presently shares information to residents? Is there a single site a resident can access? What is the URL?

  • If you subscribe to any PRINT newspapers or publications, please list them here:

East Bay Times (anything else out there like this?)
The Independent (much more useful for local news)

I am often at the Dublin Library. This would be another central location where one could pick up printed information, if mailing costs are prohibitive.

    • Facebook
    • Other - Note: I use Facebook but for personal sharing/communications. I normally don't think of it as a way of getting information from city government. However, I would use it if the information is useful and timely (not low-level details and administrivia).

    1. Partnership with the Dublin Unified School District to accelerate the development of a 2nd high school in East Dublin. As a parent with children attending middle school, this is our most important concern by far regarding living in Dublin!

The school board doesn't appear to care much about the plight of parents having to balance work hours flexibility with parents getting children to school on time, but this is important to many households. Having to commute across the city from the east to west side will be awful and really time-consuming, given present conditions, and it will get worse.

    2. Slow down or temporarily suspend the development of housing units until there is balance with school capacity. We will only vote for people running for city council who support this.

    3. Efforts to ease East<--> West traffic congestion/road related work. Build/upgrade higher capacity/faster expressways with fewer lights as alternatives to freeway to enable people to get around Dublin and adjacent cities. This especially needs to be done to ease access to Dublin High School until the 2nd high school has been built. (Is it possible to have a new expressway cut through behind the new Camp Parks housing development?) Also, information about easing 580 and 680 congestion and rebuilding the 580/680 interchange.

    4. Development of a more pleasant, unified downtown region like Pleasanton, Livermore, Walnut Creek, etc. with public meeting areas and walkable areas. Avoid the strip mall approach as much as possible please! We are still unhappy that Promenade wasn't built as promised when our house was being sold to us.

    5. More complete, not spotty, information about new/expanded recreational facilities, dinning, and entertainment venues and businesses (not as much as a city discussion item as much as general news provided to Dublin residents unless its a major facility, such as the waterpark)

    6. Public safety related information

    7. Discussion of Ikea and other major retailors and how to address traffic problems resulting from having them locate in Dublin.
