The City of Concord – like many other California cities – is experiencing financial challenges.
To meet the community’s needs during the Great Recession, Concord focused on preserving essential services, which meant less money for our roads and parks.
Although the economy has rebounded, construction costs have increased drastically, which undercuts our ability to catch up on maintenance investments. Yet, we remain committed to reflecting your priorities in our budget decision-making so our local quality of life is maintained.
We want to hear from you – how do you think the City should address closing the budget gap? Your input will help us prioritize and plan for our tomorrow. Please take a few minutes to review the following activity and indicate what kind of funding adjustments you think the City should make to close a projected $33 million budget gap in Fiscal Year 2026-27.
